Mid Facelift(cheek lift)
Procedure
A mid facelift, also known as a cheek lift, is a surgical procedure that is designed to lift and rejuvenate the cheeks and lower eyelids. Here’s a general overview of the procedure:
Anesthesia: The first step in the mid facelift procedure is administering anesthesia. Usually, general anesthesia is used, but sometimes local anesthesia with sedation may also be used.
Incision: The surgeon will then make small incisions in the hairline above the ears, or inside the mouth, depending on the technique used. The incisions are usually made in such a way that they will be well-hidden.
Tissue repositioning: The surgeon will then lift the cheek tissue and reposition it to a higher, more youthful position. This helps to reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds (the lines that run from the nose to the mouth) and marionette lines (the lines that run from the corners of the mouth down to the chin).
Fat repositioning: In some cases, the surgeon may also reposition fat pads in the cheeks to restore lost volume.
Incision closure: Once the tissue and fat have been repositioned, the incisions are closed using sutures or surgical clips.
Recovery: After the surgery, the patient will be taken to a recovery area where they will be monitored until the effects of the anesthesia wear off. It is common to experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort after the surgery, but these symptoms can be managed with pain medication and ice packs.
Follow-up: The patient will typically need to return to the surgeon’s office for follow-up appointments to ensure proper healing and to remove any sutures or clips.
The mid facelift procedure typically takes 1-2 hours to complete, depending on the extent of the work being done. The results of a mid facelift can last for several years, but it is important to remember that the procedure does not stop the natural aging process and additional touch-up procedures may be needed in the future.
It is important to choose a qualified and experienced surgeon for any facial plastic surgery procedure, including a mid facelift, to ensure the best possible results and minimize the risk of complications.
